Taxi driver charged for hitting children
A Belize City taxi driver has been charged after hitting three children on a crosswalk Tuesday morning. Six-year-old Akeen Gooding was the most severely injured and is in serious condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Taxman Louis Hynes appeared in court yesterday and was charged with negligent grievous harm, driving without due care and attention, and driving an unlicensed vehicle. The children were walking across the intersection at Mahogany and Hibiscus streets around seven-thirty a.m. when they were struck by Hynes’ vehicle.
