Heavy Fine for Weed Find on Partridge Street
A Crooked Tree resident will have to pay up to ten thousand dollars to the court after being found guilty of drug trafficking two hundred and thirteen grams of marijuana. Twenty-six-year-old Leon Aldana initially pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty when he appeared this morning before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza. Police found the drugs at a house on Partridge Street where Aldana was sleeping on May fifth, 2016. Since it is his first conviction, Magistrate Mendoza used his discretion and imposed a non-custodial sentence, fining Aldana ten thousand dollars which he has until November second, 2017 to pay or face three years in prison.
