Ombudsman Back in the Saddle for Third Term
In a brief ceremony held on Monday, February thirteenth, at the Belize House in Belmopan, Ombudsman of Belize Lionel Arzu, accompanied at the ceremony by his family, was sworn-in for a new one-year term. This follows the Prime Minister’s announcement of Arzu’s re-appointment at the January twenty-seventh sitting of the House of Representatives, which was approved by motion of both the House and the Senate. Arzu has been appointed since 2014 and is Belize’s third Ombudsman, following Paul Rodriguez and Cynthia Pitts.
