CKTV winners from Dangriga, Corozal

The process started months ago with auditions to select forty-eight contestants from all over the country. On Sunday afternoon the final four in each of two categories squared off at Club Calypso to select the champions in the 2003 edition of Children’s Karaoke Television. The first winner announced was in the junior category.

Our junior winner is…Donna Neal, all the way from Dangriga.”

“It started when I was four years old, I used to get the remote, stand on the footstool and start sing. And the first song I learn how to sing is “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion.”

“I am gonna sing all day and have fun with it.”

Nine-year-old Donna Neal of Dangriga took home a nineteen-inch Toshiba television, karaoke machine, and two hundred and fifty dollars cash.

Like the juniors, the senior division title also went to a singer from outside the city limits.

“And the winner in the senior category is…Tracy Gomez, all the way from Corozal.”

Sixteen-year-old Tracy Gomez of Corozal won a Dell computer and two hundred and fifty dollars in cash. Prizes for CKTV 2003 were provided by co-sponsors, Fanta and Intelco. Channel 5 would like to thank them, along with Club Calypso and all the participants for their invaluable support in the show’s production.
