Police deal with more sex crimes

While police in the nation’s capital are taking credit for solving the case of the missing guns, cops in Corozal are expressing dismay at a lack of cooperation in a child rape case. A ten-year-old girl claims that while at the Corozal Free Zone she was sexually assaulted by a man. Although intercourse was confirmed by a doctor and the police have a suspect in custody, police claim, and we quote, “the father’s resistance has severely hindered the investigation.”

Apparently, there was no such hindrance in the Orange Walk District where police have not only arrested twenty-one year old Jose Mendez for impregnating his fourteen year old live in lover, they have also hauled in her forty-four year old mother, Porfilia Murillo. Mendez has been charged with unlawful carnal knowledge, while Murillo has been hit with the seldom-used rap of procuration, presumably because her daughter was cohabiting with her knowledge. The police remind citizens that the age of sexual consent for females is sixteen and there will be no exceptions to this law.
