Stolen guns recovered, suspect detained
Law enforcement may have suffered a setback on Wednesday when four guns were stolen from the offices of Anchor Security Company in Belize City. But today police more than made up for it when an early morning raid near Roaring Creek turned up the four filched firearms plus a bonus in the form of a sawed off shotgun. One suspect was detained in the search which resulted in the recovery of two nine millimetre handguns and one thirty-eight along with a twelve gauge shotgun and assorted ammo, all taken from the security firm. The additional sawed off sixteen gauge is believed to have been used in the commission of the robbery, as were two ski masks, gloves, and jackets found at the Roaring Creek house. The suspect is expected to be charged with robbery as well as possession of a prohibited firearm.
