Belize City man latest Lotto winner

Fifty-four year old Calbert Budd paid only four dollars for his tickets, but ended up winning a hundred grand. Budd, who works for the Princess Hotel and Casino Taxi Service, won Saturday’s lotto jackpot of one hundred twenty-two thousand, five hundred dollars after purchasing a pair of tickets at Heng Lu shop in Belize City. This evening, a very happy Budd stopped by the Tropical gaming company to collect is very big cheque.

“Where were you when you found out the news, and what was your reaction?”
Calbert Budd
“At was in the Princess lobby Sunday morning about nine-fifteen when somebody said, “somebody won the Lotto.” So I said, “dah must me.” I gone inna my pocket and I show he the numbers and I look pan it and seh, “well if that correct I win.” He seh, well this correct, so I took my cell phone and I called the hotline and I got the exact numbers. Then I know I win and I start get nervous.”
Budd says he will bank the newfound cash. Following the fifteen percent tax deduction his account will be credited with one hundred four thousand, one hundred and twenty-five dollars. The winning numbers were 6-12-1-32-33.
