Philip Palacio Recognized at Special Sitting of Supreme Court
This morning in the courtroom of Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin, colleagues in the legal fraternity convened a special sitting in honor of the late attorney Philip Palacio. The former People’s United Party candidate for the Mesopotamia Division passed away earlier this month in the United States after a bout with cancer. The forty-two-year-old has been laid to rest but his peers in the Bar Association came together to pay their respects. Attorney Kareem Musa was a close friend of Palacio.
Kareem Musa, Attorney-at-law
“Philip was a very, very dear friend of mine and many of my colleagues, not just in the legal fraternity but also in the political world. Mr. Palacio ran for us in the Mesopotamia Division and he put up a valiant fight. But we are talking about a true humanitarian, we’re talking about a very humble individual who looked out for the poor, who looked out for the marginalized. So it is a huge loss and I really just want to convey my respects, I want to convey my condolences to his family. He has a very young family, we all feel for him and it truly is a very sad day for us.”
