Have You Seen Daniel Bennett, Missing 12 Days?
A mother in San Ignacio fears the worst since her son, who is now eighteen, has gone missing. According to Salustiana Jimenez, she last saw her son sleeping in his bed on the night of March eleventh, but when she woke up, he was nowhere to be found. It’s been twelve days since Daniel Bennett was last seen and the family believes that he may be dead since his life had been threatened three days before he went missing. This afternoon, News Five spoke with Jimenez, who has been across the country looking for her son, but to no avail.
Salustiana Jimenez, Mother of Missing
“Everyone is assuming and telling me that my son is dead already but he is nowhere to be found or his body. And I already went to make report and I know who is all behind this already, wanted my son head because on March eighth he was threatened already.”

“So you believe that something bad has happened to him?”
Salustiana Jimenez
Yes, I believe because of that threat and that problem that they had already. I went and made a report last week, but the system wasn’t working so they told me to come back another day or the next day. But the police that I went to see was not there—went out on patrol—so I went back on Monday, March twentieth and I did my full report and put it on Facebook. If he go somewhere he would tell me or he would send me a message or a text that I am okay. I will not be until next day or two days. Or if he go at his grandma in Orange Walk or go to PG, I know where he is cause he keeps in touch with me.”
Duane Moody
“Have you contacted those persons in PG and Orange Walk and he is not their either?”
Salustiana Jimenez
“Yes…he is not their either. His birthday was March sixteenth and on that same day, March eighth, he asked me…I know yo got money ma; just buy me a tennis and slippers. I tell ahn no man, yo just need wah slippers right now or wah tennis; yo can’t get two of them. Ih say directly yon oh see me again for my birthday. Weh yow ah do? How yow ah feel. I noh know if he mi di joke or what, but I went and I bought it for him. The slippers stay home, but the tennis; he went with it on. And from then, I noh see or hear from my son. I went asking, checking…called all the district police station, but he is not there. I went checking the hospital, he is not there. All his friends that I know, they say Miss we noh see him from since we know he mi gwen dah court March eighth, we noh see Daniel again. We noh know weh ‘Blacky’ deh mom; we noh know. I noh know where he could deh right now. I don’t know. I don’t know where he could be. Every day since Sunday, I’ve been getting calls, texts, saying that they found body here, there and everywhere and it is not my son. But they say my son is already dead and we will not see him anymore again.”
A formal report has been made to the police; including the allegations that Daniel had been threatened by a resident who lives in proximity to the family home in San Ignacio. Anyone with information is asked to contact the nearest police station or Jimenez at 607-9461.
