Trash Fire Takes out Ladyville Home
A small wooden home in Ladyville was also wiped out after a fire spread from burning trash across the street. The embers of that small fire lit near some bushes blew over and took down Windell Jex’s home with everything inside. News Five spoke with his brother, Joseph Jex about the incident.

“Sunday morning they wake me and they tell me thatsomebody light a fire over there and the fire extend to fi he house and dah suh it get burn down.”

“So he lost everything?”
Joseph Jex
“He lost everything. He nuh have nothing.”
Andrea Polanco
“So, how does he rebuild from here – does he need some assistance?”
Joseph Jex
“Yes. He need some assistance. We talk to the fire chief and they are waiting on a report and then we will see who can assist to build back something for him nuh.”

“Have they determined who started this bush fire that led to the fire that burnt down of the house?”
Joseph Jex
“Well, they say dah some Spanish people. But police still deh under investigation and they don’t know exactly who light the fire.”

“Now, was he at home when all of this happened?”
Joseph Jex
“No. He wasn’t at Celina working. He usually go help them out there and when he hear the house the burn down then he come.”

“For somebody like your brother, how devastating is this for him?”
Joseph Jex
“Well, it tough yuh know because the house weh his father left fi him and we left ah inna it. So he really stress out right now because dah right yah he come rest and now he have to have other neighbours weh look out fi ah dah deh he have to stay.”
