Manslaughter Accused on Bail Goes Missing

Twenty-five-year-old Saul Ortiz of San Ignacio Town is missing. Since earlier this week, he hasn’t been seen by his family and his mother reported him missing on Monday.  Ortiz, if you may recall, was one of three men named in the murder of Coast Guard Aurelio Montero Junior. The Bullet Tree resident was discovered badly beaten at the Welcome Center in San Ignacio back in April 2015. He died a few days later at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.  Well, Ortiz’s murder charge was subsequently reduced to manslaughter last year. He has been out on bail since October. Those with information on the whereabouts of Ortiz are asked to contact the nearest police station.
