Karl H. Menzies, Awarded for Service to 4-H
“Happiness is doing what you like. And that’s one of this things that has helped me today, because I like what I am doing. One of the things I have been doing since 1967, well from the mid 60s I started serving my country, but from 1967 I have been helping 4-H, and it gives me great pleasure.”
“I am very grateful for this. I don’t know if I deserve it, but I hope I do and I’m glad you think I do.”
Menzies, with the help of the National 4-H Council, has agreed to donate ten thousand dollars worth of materials toward the construction of a new cafeteria and training facility. At this morning’s ceremonies a new wooden building, donated by Bernard Cunningham, was officially added to the 4-H compound.
