Decision Thursday; Attorney is Hopeful

Ben Cooper

Unlike Gary Seawell’s case, which was dragged through the entire judicial system, Cooper is confident that the matter will be resolved in the high court and that the case will be dispensed with in an expeditious manner.

Ben Cooper, Attorney for Mark Seawell

“I have every confidence in this court for justice to be done here.”

“Can you speak to us or just comment in relation to the extent of time that he has been in prison based on these charges from a human rights perspective?”

Ben Cooper

“Yes, well this argument is being considered today for the first time by this court, by this judge and so the judge is determining the matter with great speed and is going to give judgment within less than seven days.  So we will know the outcome in six days, so the judge is certainly moving with great speed in considering this issue.”

Chief Justice Benjamin is expected to hand down a decision next Thursday.
