Suspect detained in preschool theft
There is good news to report tonight in the case of the burglary of the Port Loyola preschool. Principal of the school, Gwendolyn Jones, stopped by our studios this afternoon to report that after the story aired on last night’s newscast, she received a telephone call from a friend informing her that a man was trying to sell her the piece of purloined floor covering. Police say, acting on a tip, they visited the home of the man pictured on the screen and sure enough, he had the missing marley in his possession. A charge of handling stolen goods is expected to be brought against the suspect on Monday.
