In Progresso, man found dead in well; did man or beast kill him?
A family up north is grieving the untimely death of one of its own. The body of Baltazar Lino was retrieved from a four feet deep well in the outskirts of the village of Progresso, Corozal District. It is believed he was killed by a jaguar. Forty-four-year old Lino’s body was found on Thursday night and it is not know when he met his death. His family had been searching for him for days after he left home and did not return. Police confirmed via phone that Lino had been found dead. A post mortem has determined the cause of death to be neurovascular trauma to the neck. The matter of how he ended into the well is also not conclusive at this point.
