…And father of deceased says son was innocent

The department is alleging that Oba was hit by mistake in the warning shots. Oba’s father, Marcelino, says his son was not part of the pack and that the family needs help.

“They killed him even though he wasn’t doing anything. He want involved in any kind of problem. They told me that the Customs Officer was chasing another, who hid behind a pick-up truck. The Customs Officer fired a shot at him but missed. It caught my son in the face, who was standing at the back of the pick-up. The other man escaped. My son was shot right here in the nose. I want them to pay for all the expenses that will result from all of this.”

Marcelino also told News Five that when he went to report the incident to the Orange Walk Police, he was arrested.
