Charges Awaiting Accused Magistrate in Rape Case
We can confirm tonight that the Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, has directed the police to proceed to bring charges against a magistrate serving in south. The magistrate, however, is at this time travelling overseas so it is expected that he will be charged next week on his return. The charges against him are for the serious charge of rape. A woman in southern Belize, well-known to him, made a report to the police claiming that he had had raped her at his house on April eleventh when she went there to have a conversation with him.
