Story Picture
He was a prominent member of the New Beginnings Gospel Band, and now vocalist Michael Evans has gone solo. “Just sharing the love of God in the project. I’m a Christian one hundred percent, I love God and I believe that music is a powerful tool to send messages out and that’s what I am using, because that’s what God has blessed me; that’s the talent He has blessed me with, music and so I use it to get the message out to everyone who want to listen.”

“We tried not to keep the album monotonous in that a lot of Belizean artists tend to want to use one style of music. And so what we did was we ventured using some of the main rhythms loved by the Caribbean on a whole such as soca, dancehall, reggae, ska, we put in a techno track in there also, and so we try to mix it up so that everyone can have a particular song on the album that they could like.”

“We didn’t really know which one was our favourite because we really like them all, but I guess the one that I lean to the most are track one and track eleven. Track one for the reason that the message behind the song, the song is titled “Outta Belize” and the whole purpose of the song is to kind of give encouragement to Belizeans to realize that we as Belizeans, though we come from what is called a third world country, we have first world abilities just like everyone else. That we need to realize that, tap into our potential, be diligent, rise to the challenge and meet the expectations of the world.”

“New Beginnings” will be available in stores nationwide starting September fifth.
