Three charged in Lord shooting
Today three men were charged in connection with an attack on Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord. But Gerome Goff, Nelson Karim Bowen and Steve James did not go quietly and loudly proclaimed their innocence as they were led up the stairs, and while in the holding cell of the court. They were charged with attempted murder, and in the alternative, deadly means and use of deadly means of harm. They will appear in court again on September twenty-fourth. The Chief Magistrate was on the veranda of his home Saturday evening when a black tinted car pulled up to his driveway. The Magistrate says shots were fired and he hit the floor, escaping unscathed. This is the third attempt on Lord’s life, the last time was twenty years ago when he was posted in Orange Walk.
