Minor Detained for Alleged Involvement in Armed Robbery

A twelve-year-old minor is in police custody tonight pending the outcome of a criminal investigation, following an armed robbery in Belize City on Wednesday.  According to twenty-one-year-old Enrique Patt, an employee of Zeta Purified Water, he was seated inside the company’s delivery truck near the corners of Mahogany Street and Western Avenue around midday.  While waiting for his coworker who was purchasing fruits at a nearby vegetable stand, Patt was approached by a pair of men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.  During the robbery, the driver was relieved of one hundred and fifty dollars in cash and a cell phone valued at one hundred and ninety dollars.
