1 of 3 Accused Robbers Pleads Guilty
One of three men accused of robbing an Immigration Officer and a businessman at gun point of their personal items and a significant amount of cash was convicted in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for robbery. The three men are Ryan Alvarez, who is presently on remand for a 2016 city murder, Russell Bernardez as well as Darrington Louriano, who was gunned down in the city streets before his case could come to trial. In the court room of the Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser, Alvarez changed his not guilty plea to guilty and was slapped with two five-year prison terms to run concurrently. Bernardez is pending trial since he had maintained a not guilty plea. The trio is accused of robbing Dorian User and Lindsey Wade. Usher was robbed of five thousand four hundred dollars worth of jewellery, while Wade lost five thousand and twenty dollars in an assortment of items during the robbery. Lauriano and Alvarez were charged jointly with two counts of robbery of Usher, while all three men were charged with robbing Wade.
