Man shot five times in front of store
A Belize City resident was shot several times Tuesday night. The details are still sketchy and police are puzzled about the cause of this latest shooting which occurred a few blocks away from the Raccoon Street Police Station. The victim, Aaron Cassanova, was at Tow Tow Grocery Shop on Fairweather Street when a lone gun man came up on him and blasted a series of gunshots, five of which penetrated his back, torso and leg. The gunman fled the scene leaving Cassanova bleeding on the pavement in front of the shop. Cassanova was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is still in critical condition at the hospital.
