Family appeals for help to find missing man

Story Picture
Tonight the Skeen family of Ladyville needs your help in trying to locate their brother. On July thirty-first, thirty-eight year old Gregory Skeen went missing from his home and has not been heard from since. Skeen, who has Down’s Syndrome, cannot speak or read and the family is very concerned that his disability will put his life at risk. According to Skeen’s sister, Delvarie Pate, the family has been doing all it can to find her brother, but with each passing day, their hope of finding him fades. Pate says it is not the first time that her brother has left home, but never for this long.

“We are concerned because of the fact that so many things is happening and we noh know what could happen. Not that we believe that he could be hurt by anyone, because I noh see no reason why anyone could hurt him, but yet still, you never know what could be the outcome of missing him so long. And so this is the part that worries us, because he never has gone away from us for so long. And it really hurt because we don’t really know what could be the outcome of the situation.”

“I feel like people could abuse him because he is somebody that goes around and people give him money because he begs and you never know who wants to take it away and he won’t easily give it up, that’s for sure. He would fight back and maybe they would hurt him. And that’s why I am scared, because he will not give up his belongings. When he has money he goes and buy little schools bags, the knapsacks on his back, or he goes and buy little play guns, water guns mainly and maybe somebody see it and want to tease him…not really want, but they just want to tease him and he would get very angry.”

If you know the whereabouts of Gregory Skeen, please contact the family at telephone numbers 606-8072, 606-7376 or 225-3294.
