Missing billboard was hit by car

In May of this year Belize Water Services donated a set of billboards to the National AIDS Commission to help with the organization’s awareness campaign. Drivers along the Northern and Western Highways would have noticed at least three of the message bearing signs prominently displayed along the way. So when one of the six thousand dollar billboards disappeared from its location, we wondered what was going on. As it turns out, the missing billboard had to be taken in for repairs after a misguided driver attempted to use it as an off ramp. According to Bel-Caribe, the company responsible for erecting the billboards, as soon as the repairs are complete, the sign should be returned to its designated place. B.W.S. is also sponsoring television, radio and newspaper advertisements and will sponsor an AIDS walk later this year to coincide with World AIDS Day.
