Sergio Chuc, Ruperto Vicente Condemn Arson of GenSec’s Vehicle
In the immediate aftermath of Sergio Chuc’s disqualification to contest the presidency, the vehicle of Michael Blease, the secretary general of the federation, was set on fire. Both Chuc and Vicente came out against the criminal act, saying whoever is responsible should be dealt with by the law.
Sergio Chuc, Football Stakeholder
“That was a very unfortunate incident and I want to say right off the bat that Belize…man we are not ready for that stuff. I do not condone that type of attitude. Whoever did it was wrong. Hopefully, the police can do a proper investigation and this person needs to be punished. Because even though my candidacy was denied, I don’t believe we need to resort to that kind of action. we should be a country of law and order.”
Ruperto Vicente, Presidential Candidate, F.F.B. Executive
“Whether we like it or not, there are nasty people in football. There are people who want to do other people evil things. And I am calling on those persons, if you are involved in football and you are into this practice, I call on you to get out. Leave our sport alone and leave it clean cause we want it to be clean.”
So far, the F.F.B. has remained mum about its internal battles.
