“Punta Survives” with Positive Vibes
He came on to the music scene back in 2005 with his hit song, “Livin’ ina Di Devil” and over the past twelve years, Belizean artist Positive Vibes has been creating other hit tracks on four different albums, including collaborations with other Punta Rock artists, Consego and Taprick. But today, after nine months and countless hours in studio along with producers Young C and Madness, the punta rock artist partnered with the Image Factory Art Foundation to release his fifth and latest album. “Punta Survives” features twelve tracks from Positive Vibes and a bonus track entitled Hard Rock in honor of slain DJ Andrew Bennett. “I have Punta Rock in my blood and it is a part of my culture. And what other way to go than to do your culture and it was easy for me, having that it is in my blood and people who are my family such as Supa G Madness, who is Supa G’s bigger brother. Punta Survives, the idea came from having been to nightclubs and other parties, I hardly hear Punta Rock di play like that. I think that for some reason or the other, it di get lost. So instantly, I attacked and I came up with “Punta Survives.” I mean what can kill culture? Only its people. So “Punta Survives” is a reality check kinda project; that nothing can kill Punta Rock and other cultural music.”

“The whole insight of it is just to show other artists that we noh supposed to take ourselves lightly ina what we do. We could do things as big as whoever do it as big as whoever do it big dah Belize City and beyond. So to me this is just a stepping stone to show artist that it is a stepping stone and great work do pay off.”
