Ladyville bus lines get suspended over fights
And while taxi drivers contemplate fare hikes, in Ladyville commuters are facing another problem in public transportation—a row between two bus operators in the past few days that left travelers disgruntled. Chief Transport Officer, Candelaria Saldivar, along with the Chairman of the Transport Board, met with bus operators from Ladyville to address the reports of the feuding drivers involved in verbal as well as physical altercations. According to Saldivar, they have decided to suspend both Ladyville lines from operation out of consideration for the welfare of commuters.

“What happened is that they’ve been having some personal problems with the same runs. So they had several verbal confrontations and some of it has gotten physical to the point that they had to report it to the police. So we have decided we cannot tolerate that type of behavior. So the permit was suspended for a seven day period.”

“Which community do they serve; Flores and Ramos?”
Candelaria Saldivar
“They do the Ladyville run.”
Jose Sanchez
“And how will the community be affected? Do you have any replacements?”
Candelaria Saldivar
“Okay, we have already put in a replacement; effective from yesterday. The suspension started yesterday. We have Mammy Brown. Three companies operate from Ladyville; Sky, Ramos and Flores. Two of them suspended so Sky is still operating and we put in Mammy Brown to assist. And do some rescheduling but it’s the same schedule.”
Jose Sanchez
“If these two companies, Ramos and Flores continue to have ill behavior on the roads, do you see it having any permanent effect on their license?”
Candelaria Saldivar
“Like we mention to them in the meeting, if this continues we will have to revoke their road service permit.”
Flores and Ramos Bus lines will be able to resume their regular runs next week Monday, June fifteenth.
