No foul play suspected in U.S. retiree’s death
Police do not suspect foul play in the death of an elderly Belize City man whose badly decomposing body was found in his house over the weekend. Neighbours were alerted that something was wrong after they detected a foul odour coming from the upstairs of this house at number sixty Racecourse Street. When a check was made on Saturday evening they found sixty-six year old Anthony Edward Howard dead in his bed. According to the police, because of the advanced state of decomposition, the exact cause of death could not be determined and the body was immediately buried. The medical examiner reported that no signs of violence were observed on Howard’s body. Police say Howard, a U.S. national, is known to have suffered from epileptic seizures.
