Stann Creek skeleton is a mystery
Police tonight are investigating another murder, but time is not on their side. This afternoon they were called out to an isolated spot on the road leading from the Southern Highway to the resort of Kanantik in the Stann Creek District. There they found a human skeleton, believed to be decomposing for at least several months. According to police press officer, G. Michael Reid, the remains are yet to be identified as male or female and they have no reports of missing persons in that area. One incident that does come to mind, however, is the kidnapping and suspected murder of farmer Harry Sheran, which occurred in October of 2001. Sheran’s body was never recovered. Anyone who can help solve this mystery is asked to call the nearest police station.
