Caye Caulker lobsterfest good to go
Good to go: that’s the word from organizers of Caye Caulker’s lobsterfest set to start this evening on the island. For the past nine years a group known as the Caye Caulker Island Veterans have been hosting La Isla Carinosa’s Lobsterfest. The event is dedicated to honour fishermen, but the best part is that visitors to the island will have the golden opportunity to full their bellies with the expensive delicacy, which should be on sale at reduced rates. According to organizer Neal Bradley, the two-day fest has consistently been a success and now that Tropical Storm Claudette is no longer a threat to Belize, there should be no reason why thousands shouldn’t flock to the caye. Bradley says each year the village cooks up a storm of creative and delicious lobster recipes, so start fasting from now. Among the activities planned are games for both adults and children and canoe races. Official opening ceremonies are scheduled for tonight with the selection of Miss Lobsterfest.
