Intelco: Service will start on Halloween
Well, another Intelco deadline has come and gone. As per a promise, made by the company’s chief executive officer last week, today we were sitting around the office patiently waiting to find out when Intelco is finally going to start its service. And for a change we weren’t disappointed…well, we at least have a date. That’s right, the “new telecommunications company” says that on October thirty-first, a.k.a. Halloween, they are going to begin to provide “convergent technology at affordable rates backed by superior customer service.” But is this is a trick or treat? After all, we’ve heard this big talk before. According to today’s release–signed by C.E.O. Juan McKenzie–after years of planning, tons of equipment, twenty-three towers completed and six still in the works, all this at a whopping price tag of eighty million dollars, come October everything should be good to go. Intelco has promised wireless internet and cellular service at rates cheaper than that of the current telecommunications monopoly, B.T.L., and now, Intelco’s got three-months to put their phones where their mouths are.
