Police investigate armed robbery, burglary

Meanwhile, Belize City police are investigating an armed hold-up that occurred on Wednesday afternoon. According to businessman Yue Di Liu, he was at his shop on Curassow Street when just after one p.m. a man with a handgun walked up to his window and demanded money. Yue handed over approximately two hundred dollars and the thief left as quickly as he came. Details as to the description of the gunman are sketchy, but police say they are looking for one person for questioning in connection with the incident.

In another police report filed on Wednesday, a resident of the Lord’s Bank community told police that while she was out one or more thieves broke into her home and stole an estimated ten thousand dollars in cash and jewellery. Jackie Frost says she left for work at about seven a.m., but when she got home around nine that night she found that someone had broken into the house. As police continue to investigate, they are asking anyone with information on this case to please contact the nearest station.
