Hayward Charitable Trust to donate to healthcare trust

In Monday’s newscast we carried a story on the future opening of the Sanford Children’s Clinic in Belize and there’s another development on that front. Today, a representative of the Hayward Charitable Belize Trust confirmed to News Five, that once the debt owed to Belize Social Development Limited by the Government of Belize in connection with Telemedia’s Accommodation Agreement is recovered, the Trust will donate five million Belize dollars to further the causes of the Belize Healthcare Charitable Trust. Viewers will recall that the Belize Healthcare Charitable Trust is the forty-nine percent owner of the Belize Healthcare Partners Hospital, and was established by the Belize Bank as part of the solution to the U.H.S. debt situation. The Belize Healthcare Charitable Trust’s focus is the provision of medical and healthcare services for the benefit of the people of Belize. News Five understands that the five million dollars will be used in conjunction with Sanford Children’s Clinic, to directly facilitate the establishment and development of the proposed medical facilities at the pediatric clinic.
