Coolie Rebels launch “Positive Vibes” CD

Story Picture
As a group, they’ve been belting out Paranda, Punta and Soca lyrics for over four years… and now they’ve gone digital with the release of their first professional album. Tropical Sensation, A.K.A. “Coolie Rebels” has put together ten of their best songs and are offering their album “Positive Vibes” for music lovers nationwide. According to band member Peter Castillo, the hip shaking music also has a message.

Peter Castillo, Lead Vocalist, Coolie Rebels

“We have “Ayoomama”, we have the one that I sing “Wisdom Tree”, which is a combination of English and Garifuna music, and we also have “Mi Gial” which has English and Garifuna music to it. And those are about the most, the sweetest music that we have on the track… The one, “Your Own”, is message of having your own, but there is another one, “Crazy Monkey”, which has a very lively rhythm to it, soca music and of course, yes they should enjoy that music too.”

Patrick Jones

“Toledo has often been spoken of as the forgotten district, but a project like this, really helps to put you on the Belize map.”

Peter Castillo

“Yeah certainly. This is one of the first CDs coming out of P.G. in a very long time and we’re certainly proud of it. We hope the Belizean people will appreciate it and we’re asking them to support us and enjoy the music… The particular message as I said, having your own, your family, your vehicle so we have nobody criticizing you, you know talking behind your back, that this is not for you and you’re behaving like it’s yours. That’s the basic message, that you should have your own.”

The “Coolie Rebels” album is available at music stores countrywide.
