Police have car, seek hit and run driver

Police investigations have led them to conclude that the death of a Placencia man on Wednesday night was in fact the result of a hit and run…and they think they can identify the car, if not the driver. Sixty-eight year old Richard Gilbert Leslie, better known as Shakey, died just before midnight about an hour after being found severely injured on the roadside near the village water tower. Police say that a small white pickup, license plate C4700 was seen leaving the vicinity and they are asking the driver to please report to the nearest police station. Anyone with information that will help police solve this crime should call the crime stoppers hotline at 922. Unconfirmed reports reaching News 5 is that a woman has been detained in connection with the incident.
