Farmer Accused of Molesting 11-Year-Old in Bomba
Tonight, a Bomba resident is also behind bars for two counts of sexual assault upon an eleven-year-old student of northern Belize. Forty-year-old Jorge Cerraras, a farmer of the village in the Belize District, was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser and pleaded not guilty to both charges. Allegations are that on two separate occasions, in June 2017, he inappropriately touched the underage girl. The child claims that on the afternoon of June fifteenth, 2017, upon returning home from a shop in the village, Cerraras called her inside his house. While inside the house, he took inside his bedroom, undressed and sexually assaulted her. There was another incident of sexual abuse four days later. Cerraras was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison and is due back in court on September twenty-six 2017.
