Threatening Words Case between City Councilor and Activist Tossed
Activist Raymond Rivers also appeared in court today for an incident that goes back to November 2016 involving U.D.P. Councillor Phillip Willoughby. Willoughby accused Rivers of using threatening words against him. While Rivers did not deny he uttered the words “You weh dead bwai,” he said they were in no way threat of death words. But when the case came up this morning, the councillor was a no show so the charges were dismissed and River was free to go out. When he exited the courtroom Rivers finally had his say.
Raymond Rivers, Charges Dismissed
“I noh do nothing to this man or nothing, so I mi expect it to get dash out. But you know the amount of money that I lose coming to these court case and my kids…I can’t even feed my kids sometimes because of the amount of time when I miss work to come to the court cases. So you know I will be pursuing legal action against this man for defamation of character.”
