O.W. woman shoots at sisters
There are quarrels between sisters and then there are quarrels between sisters. Last night, a set of feisty siblings from Orange Walk got into it pretty good at a local bar. But according to police, things got scary when, in the middle of the hair pulling and clawing, twenty-four year old Elvira Grant pulled out her licensed nine-millimetre pistol and aimed it in the direction of her sister Eliza. Fortunately, the single shot missed. She then turned as if to run away, but Annie Oakley wasn’t done yet. She did a quick u-turn and fired again, this time at another sister, Claudia, who was standing in the doorway. If her intention was clear, her aim was not, as she once again missed her mark. Elvira left the scene, but her sisters went to the police station. Orange Walk police are investigating the incident and are treating the case as possible attempted murder. The nine millimetre and an empty magazine clip, along with Elvira Grant, have been detained. The sisters manage a night spot together, Esquidays, in Trial Farm, which was the scene of the incident. According to Orange Walk police, Elvira has been known to fire her gun indiscriminately in public, but this is the first time she has ever taken aim at a living target. What exactly started the argument in the first place is still not clear to authorities.
