MIT Bust Suspected Drug Trafficker in Old Capital
Dangriga resident Keenan Anthony Flores pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another person or persons for the purpose of drug trafficking in the Magistrate’s Court. The twenty-three-year-old Flores charged for nearly five pounds of suspected cocaine found in two parcels under the front seat of a GMC Jimmy parked in front of a Tibruce Street residence on July twenty-ninth, 2017. Members of the Mobile Interdiction Team visited the property and spoke to Flores, who said he occupied the lower flat of the residence. They also searched him personally but found nothing incriminating. One of the parcels found in the vehicle was wrapped in what appeared to be plastic wrap, while the other was wrapped in what appeared to be electric tape. In court Flores pleaded not guilty and was remanded by Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer until October sixth, 2017, although the process of applying for bail has started. Police also questioned another man and woman inside the yard and later spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who said that Flores had been in possession of the vehicle up to the time of the discovery.
