Born into a family of Belizean musicians, the young talent of the man who calls himself “Indio” has always found a stage on the local entertainment scene. “I noh responsible for any ah the messages inna my song. My talent is only used by a greater force to get these messages out to each and every individual, and who needs to have the messages or get these messages. And basically, this song “Free up mi nation” is a direct message to those individuals in certain places that could help the youths and help certain people who are suffering and struggling, and they’re not really doing that but helping themselves. And it actually reveals some of the corruption that is going on right now, so you have to listen real good.”
“Door to door, business to business, the CD will be in stores very soon, but in the meantime, who I meet, I just let them know, look, I have this CD, you’re interested? Boom!
Indio is the son of Belizean musician Brother David Obi. Other songs on “Free Up Mi Nation” include “Wild, Wild West”, “Joy” and “Awake Yourselves”.
