D.P.P.: No charges yet for man who shot girlfriend
He killed his girlfriend with his unlicensed revolver, but today Roger Lewis remains a free man and no charges have been filed against him. Lewis was detained following the Monday night shooting of Lorei Wagner, which occurred while the pair were together in her bedroom. Police sources tell News 5 that Lewis claims the shooting was an accident. But what has observers mystified is that despite the homicide, Lewis has not been arrested for any crime, although Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid says it is quite likely that he will be charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm. Police sources say the decision to delay proceedings was made by D.P.P. Kirk Anderson.
