Since 1998, three major hurricanes and one tropical storm have affected our country and this year weather experts predict above average activity for the Atlantic and Caribbean. Will your family and community survive the next disaster? It’s a question the National Library Service wants you to ask and then take the necessary steps to be prepared. One way you can start getting ready is by arming yourselves with as much information possible.
Shana Rowland, Library Assistant, Leo Bradley Library
“We have information telling the general public about what is a hurricane, how to be prepared. We have scenes of different hurricanes past and the latest is of Iris and the effects that it did to the different countries, especially down south.”
“From time to time we see the effect that hurricanes have on the lives of people who do not see it as serious, especially in the district and villages. So we see it as important that the library, in order to disseminate information, we see it possible to educate the people more.”
The exhibition will run until the end of June. Jacqueline Woods for News5.
