Local Pharmacists to Benefit from New U.B. Program
Twenty-four students will form the first cohort of a new program awarding Bachelor’s in Science degrees in Pharmacy at the University of Belize. It’s the first program of its kind in Belize and one that the Pharmacists’ Association says has been a long time coming. Today president Beverly Coleman indicated that it will offer different streams of learning for older professionals and those just starting to learn the business of pharmacy.
Beverly Coleman, President, Belize Pharmacists’ Association
“This has been a long time coming. We’ve been waiting for this for years. And we are now proud to say that as far as I know, there are twenty-four of us who are now enrolled in that program. Things like this is what the Association encourages. All the people that are enrolled in this program – U.B. has been very cognizant of the fact that we have all been working in this field for many years, and so they have designed a program especially for us, to grandfather us into the Bachelor’s program – as well, they are offering a program for newcomers as well, so they will be running two programs concurrently.”
