US shuts down internet company linked to Belize
Belize made the news in the United States on Thursday, but not for good reason. A story in the Washington Post states that a web service provider linked to this country has been shut down by the US Federal Trade Commission. The company, which is registered in Northern California, but has thirty-five Barrack Road, Belize City listed as its principle place of business, operates as Pricewert LLC or Triple Fibers Network (3FN). Sun Limited and Mirarnay Systems Limited are also registered at the Barrack Road Address and were linked to the 3FN network. The FTC’s complaint regarding the operation says that 3FN runs an internet service provider that (quote) “recruits, knowingly hosts, and actively participates in the distribution of illegal, malicious, and harmful content” (unquote). And on Tuesday, the plug was pulled on all websites hosted by Pricewert or 3FN. But according to the Washington Post article, a number of 3FN servers have already been resurfacing at new locations online. The web service provider also goes by the aliases APS Telecom and APX Telecom.
