Tanya Williams, Information Specialist, C.Z.M.A.I.
“We know an informed public is the best that we can have in terms of how they use the coastal and marine resources. The library will be one of the ways that we can inform the public about how they can properly use those resources.”
“Healthy Costal and Marine Resources Plus Healthy Communities Equal a Healthy Belizean Economy” is the theme for this year’s observance.

“We want people to see that connection, to see that link. You cannot have a better Belizean economy without healthy costal and marine resources.”
“In terms of the entire management and use, we are looking at certain areas, tourism, fisheries etcetera, all the industries who use these resources, we want people to make that link between how they use it and the long term benefits.”
To raise the public’s awareness, C.Z.M.A.I. will hold a number of activities, including a National Coastal Symposium on Tuesday at the Belize Biltmore Hotel and a panel discussion at C.Z.M.A.I. training room. Jacqueline Woods for News 5.
The panel discussion will be aired live Wednesday night at eight right here on Channel 5.
