A New Father Jailed for Prohibited Firearm at Store
Twenty-one-year-old Dwight Orosco appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer on charges of keeping a prohibited firearm and unlicensed ammunition for a point-twenty-two pen gun and three rounds found next to him by police. Pleading not guilty to the charges, the father of a newborn girl who works as a DJ and tour guide said he had gone out to a Chinese store on Friday on Oleander Street and found some other guys hanging out there. When a police mobile arrived on the scene, the men left abruptly. Orosco says he looked down to his right and saw a bag, which he touched. Police pounced and surrounded him. A search of the bag revealed that it contained the gun and ammunition. Senior Magistrate Frazer remanded an emotional Orosco to the central prison until October seventeenth, but he could be out sooner, as he has retained an attorney to seek bail from the Supreme Court.
