A.G. Says Darlene Padron Will Be Questioned over Activity in Vega Case

The fate of Darlene Padron, the Justice of the Peace who knowingly or unknowingly endorsed the fraudulent land document, lies with the Office of the Attorney General which is conducting an investigation into the signing of the deed.  Earlier today, News Five spoke briefly with Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte who informed us that they are looking into the matter and if it is found that Padron is culpable, she will be removed from the list of Justices of the Peace.

“I have asked a Crown Counsel who deals with JPs to look into it for me and she will present me with a report tomorrow when I go back to Belmopan, the latest is Monday.  We wahn do an investigation, we wahn call in Ms. Padron as wahn JP and she wahn have to explain to we weh ih do and if it is not satisfactory to me then I will strike her off the JPs list.  We are conducting an investigation and I have spoken to the Minister of Lands and she and I are coordinating and if we, we need to speak with Ms. Forte who will do an interview and if we are not satisfied with the information we receive then she will be struck off the JPs list.”
