Missing boy is returned home
In an update to a story aired on Friday’s newscast, we are happy to report that tonight a little boy found wandering the streets has been reunited with his family. According to the boy’s mother, Edelie Lord, four-year-old Ahijah Manzanarez was spending the afternoon with his grandfather, when the boy just took off.

“He say he mi di sleep, and it look like my son open up the door and lock the door with he inna the room. He tek his bicycle out ah the kitchen and he gone bout his business, but he nevah did come here. ‘Bout three so, out yah on Mahogany, I tell the police officer, I say, my lee bwai missing. He seh, he will call station and then they wah come look fi him and thing. I tell ah, I done know it wah be a lot ah thing cause they wah ask me a lot ah questions and I noh deh pan that, I deh pan find my son now.”

“How did you find him?”
Edelie Lord
“Well when I left from there I tell the officer I going dah back more goh look for ah. And one of my friends, wah young man weh dah my friend, tell me Edelie, you see your son? I tell ah no. He said, your son deh pan the news, he deh dah station.”

“Has he done this sort of thing before?”
Edelie Lord
“No, he noh do that, because everywhere I go I always ker him with me. So maybe it’s because I left him home that day and I nevah ker him, maybe he just wanted to know weh I mi deh.”
The Family Violence Unit says the child was reunited with his mother around eight o’clock on Friday night.
