Has the next Chief Magistrate of Belize been appointed? It is widely expected that it will be acting Chief Magistrate and former Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, but official confirmation has been slow in coming. Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith has moved on after six years on Belize’s bench to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, joining Justice Godfrey Smith. News Five understands that Frazer has been acting in the post officially since August fourteenth; Frazer has been a senior magistrate since 2004 and has also served as president of the Association of Public Service Senior Managers and on the board of the Belize Diabetes Association.
