Body on rooftop has police puzzled

Story Picture
Tonight police are hoping that a post mortem examination will help them discover exactly what caused the demise of a Belize City man. While foul play is not apparent, the location of the body indicates that this was not your everyday death by natural causes.

Jacqueline Woods, Reporting

This evening Belize City police had the task of climbing a ladder to investigate a disturbing report that a dead man was seen on the roof of a building. Lying face down on top of the zinc was the nude body of forty-five year old Clive Lord of number thirty-seven Euphrates Avenue. The gruesome discovery was first made by neighbours, who happened to look out their window and saw the body partially covered with a plastic sheet.

According to the dead man’s family, Lord had mental problems and had taken up residence on their rooftop. They do not know when he may have died and believe his death was due to illness.
